Welcome to the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen, Tetbury

There has been a Christian place of worship on the site of St Marys' since at least 681 AD. The present church was built following the demolition of the medieval church in 1777. The church today, with its elegant spire, is a focal point in the town. St Marys' is open every day for people to come and visit, sit quietly, or attend any of the regular services.

Save the East Window

The East Window is a highlight of our church, and is the often the first thing that visitors remark upon when they enter the building. It was installed in 1868, but now, after 140 years, it is showing its age and is in need of some urgent repairs.

We have launched a campaign to raise funds to repair and conserve this and the other stained glass windows in the church. This work is expected to cost around £85,000. The Parish is applying for grant aid, but also needs to raise as much as is possible from donations. We have a limited amount of time available, and ideally need to be in a position to commision the repair work early next year. Consequently we need to have raised funds by the end of this year.

We will be organising a number of fund-raising events over the next 6 months - watch this space for details. In the meantime, please download this leaflet for more information about the work involved and how you can donate to the project.

8.00 AM. Holy Communion (BCP)
9:30 AM. Parish Eucharist 
6.00 PM. Choral Evensong (First Sunday of every month)
6.00 PM. Evening Prayer (All other Sundays)  

Tetbury Church is part of a benefice together with the parishes of Beverston, Long Newnton and Shipton Moyne. Services at these parishes on Sundays are held at the following times:

Long Newnton

9.30 AM.   1st Sunday of every month
11.15 AM. 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month
6.00 PM.   3rd Sunday of every month 

Shipton Moyne

11.15 AM.
